From zero digital presence to the #1 roofer in six Fort Worth-area cities
A second-generation family roofing company with 18 years of experience had almost no online presence. We launched a full local SEO campaign timed to land right before storm season — and made them the top-ranked roofer across six DFW markets.
Where they started
This 18-year-old family roofing business in Fort Worth had built its entire customer base on referrals and yard signs. When a business partner retired and referrals slowed, the owners realized how exposed they were: almost no online presence, an unoptimized Google Business Profile, inconsistent citations, a decade-old website, and fewer than 10 Google reviews.
Storm season was coming, and with it a wave of storm-chasing national contractors flooding the DFW market with ad budgets they couldn't match. They needed real digital visibility — and they needed it fast.
What we did
We built a comprehensive campaign timed to land before peak storm season. Priority one was rebuilding their Google Business Profile from scratch — proper categories, complete service listings, 40+ photos, and a systematic review request to years of past customers. In parallel, we launched six city-specific landing pages and a citation campaign across 55 directories.
- Full Google Business Profile overhaul with roofing-specific categories and service listings
- Review outreach to three years of past customers with a one-tap Google review link
- Six city landing pages built around real storm-damage context, not generic filler
- 55-directory citation campaign with strict NAP standardization
- Emergency roof-repair content targeting storm-season search terms
- New website rebuilt with local schema markup throughout
Timing the campaign to storm season
We launched in early April — about six weeks before the Texas storm season peak. That head start gave the profile work and city pages time to index and gain authority before demand spiked. By the time the first major hail hit DFW in late May, the company was ranking in the top three for "roof repair [city]" across all six target markets. That timing edge delivered more than any paid campaign could have for the same spend.
Turning past customers into a wall of reviews
The single highest-ROI move was reaching back into three years of completed jobs with a personal text and a direct review link. Within three weeks, 86 reviews came in from happy customers who had simply never been asked. That flipped the profile from an underperformer with 8 reviews to a market leader with 94 — and the jump in visibility and call volume was immediate.
City pages built on real local expertise
Each city page was written around genuine local context — the roof types common to that area's housing stock, the neighborhoods served, the storm-damage patterns, and photos of completed jobs. Instead of thin "we serve [City]" pages, these gave Google specific, unique signals for every market — the kind national competitors never bother to build.
What this means for your business
- Review generation from past customers is often the fastest path to early Map Pack rankings.
- Timing a campaign to precede a seasonal demand peak dramatically amplifies the results.
- Six city pages across a 30-mile radius can multiply organic visibility as effectively as a much broader campaign.
- A 4.9-star rating with 90+ reviews converts far better than a 3.6 with a handful — especially in the trades.
