ARE BUSINESS CARDS WORTH IT? (2022)

Top 6 reasons why you need professionally designed business cards in 2022

I hear people all the time ask  “Are business cards worth it?”

I understand how in the digital world of today, new entrepreneurs may be unsure if they actually need to worry about business cards. There is obviously nothing wrong with asking for guidance, just be sure you're getting it from the right place.

I see it all the time,  “No, just connect with clients on LinkedIn” or “Just order cheap cards from Vistaprint” .

WOAH! Hold it right there! Those are two very bad pieces of advice that could end up costing your business a lot of potential sales.

Let’s settle this issue right here and now. Business cards ARE DEFINITELY worth it and are an absolute requirement for anyone in business for themselves.

However, a warning , not all business cards are created equal. A lot of the cheap, template business card websites print their cards on low quality paper and provide you with the same design that thousands of other people have. Two things that will not impress your audience.

So, why you ask do you need professionally designed business cards in 2022? Let's take a look at the top 6 reasons.

#6 Affordability -

Business cards are one of the most affordable and cost effective marketing methods for your business. Because of their low individual cost, they are easy to give freely to potential clients and business contacts.

Our professionally designed business cards start at $149 for 1,000 cards designed and printed. That breaks down to under .15 cents per card! And, when you reorder, they are even cheaper!

#5 Tangibility -

Having physical, tangible business cards that your potential clients can touch and feel gives them a much stronger connection to you and your business than a connection on  LinkedIn  or  Facebook . They can put the card and the name on that to your face, that's a big deal.

#4 Easy to give again / leave behind -

One of the best things about business cards is that they can be passed on multiple times.

How many times have you been given a business card by someone other than who’s named on the card? As a business professional that is active in my local community, It happens to me regularly. I may be at a chamber of commerce event or other local networking event, discussing a problem that myself, a friend or a client is having, and end up being passed a business card for someone who helps people with similar issues. What a great way to get referrals!

Business cards are also great to leave behind on local bulletin boards, on restaurant checkout counters and anywhere else you can leave a small stack of them to let others in the community know that you’re local and that you’re available to help them with your product or service.

#3 Builds Trust -

When you hand someone your business card, it very well could be the first exposure that they've had to your company. You only get one chance to make a good first impression and this exchange will form the “gut feeling” that they hold for you and your business.

A professionally designed business card automatically generates a level of trust that you are a professional. That trust is an essential component of getting more and higher paying clients.

#2 Bad cards are bad for business -

 According to a recent study,

39% of people would choose not to do business with someone if they had a “cheap looking” business card.

39% is a HUGE number when it comes to client acquisition! Business cards should not be discounted as an afterthought. They could truly be the difference between the success or decline of your business.

#1 You’re being judged -

This ties together a few of the earlier reasons and provides verifiable proof of their accuracy.

In the same study mentioned above,

72% of people admitted that they judge a company or person based on the quality of their business card.

With numbers like these, it’s vitally important that you  incorporate professionally designed business cards into your marketing strategy. Based on the statistics above, the small investment should quickly pay off.

Now whenever you see someone online, maybe a friend, family member or a business acquaintance ask “Are business cards dead?” , please send them this post so that they can see that business cards are absolutely alive, well and an important part of any businesses marketing efforts.

A poster that says business greeting cards on it

Business greeting cards are a very cost-effective marketing tool that small businesses can use to strengthen customer relationships. Business greeting cards come in various formats, from e-cards to SMS cards, you can send them to customers and prospects on occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, congratulate them after a major achievement, or simply to thank them for their business. Here's a blog post from one of my partners about business greeting cards that I found to be a great read so I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy!
Which website is best for a business?
April 17, 2022
This is a popular question that we get a lot. What type of website should I use for my business? Should I build a website myself? Can’t I just let my sisters’ boyfriends nephew build it? He seems like he’s good at computers? My friend is telling me to make a WordPress / Wix / Squarespace website because it’s so easy to build yourself. These are just some things we hear regularly. Let’s dig into these. “My friend is telling me to make a WordPress / Wix / Squarespace website because it’s so easy to build yourself.” I had an initial consultation with a new client last week. She reached out to us about building an e-commerce website for her business. During our meeting, it came up that for the last year she had been trying to work on building the website herself via Shopify, but could never get it to look how she wanted it to look. She said that she had spent hours searching for instructional videos on YouTube on how to do this thing or that, only to find that more often than not, she found something else had broken because of following the steps she was told to take. She told me how frustrating the entire process has been and how she can’t even guess how many hours and hours that she’s wasted trying to figure it out. Shopify, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and these other are easy once you’ve put in the time to become familiar with them and how they work. After only a short time of using them, you should have no problem figuring out how to add a photo, text box, links, etc to your budding new website. That being said, while these tools are easy to start, they can be much more difficult to master. Learning the more onerous tasks can be quite frustrating when attempting to learn via trial and error. Can you figure it out? Of course you can. Anything is possible if you devote the required time and attention to it. Also, how long is this whole learning and development process going to take? 40 hours? 80 hours? How many hours a week are you prepared to dedicate to researching and learning how to build your website? Ok, it’s done! All of your hard work paid off and your business’s new website is live for the public to access. Does it represent your business in the professional way that it needs to be presented? Does it work well on smart phones? Do visitors feel encouraged to take the next step in your buyer’s funnel, or are they backing out of your site and heading to your competitors? For most business owners, the tiny amount they save by building their new site themselves pales when compared to the time savings, ease of development, professional final product and increased customer conversions that they get when they choose to work with a professional website developer like us. So which website is best for a business? The one that pays for itself time and time again because it looks great, works great and helps guide your visitors into becoming paying customers. Schedule a call with us today to discuss how we can help your business with a new website, social media management, SEO and other marketing services.
